Influence of refractory materials for ladle leaking

1.Ladle well block is of low hot crushing strength. When using air pick to chance upper nozzle well block, the well block would be easy to breakdown. The inner diameter would get larger, and gap between well block and upper nozzle may get bigger. The molten steel would easy to get into the gaps, and leak would easy to happen.
2.Ladle well block is of weak thermal resistance. During working period, like casting and hot repair, the temperature difference would be very big, and the well block would easy to break down. If can not be found in time, molten steel would leak through the gap between upper nozzle well block and nozzle.
3. Ladle sliding gate plate is of weak erosion resistance. When doing half hole casting, the lower plate would bear higher erosion strength, and easy to appear groove. After closed the plate, molten steel would leave in the groove and get cold there, in which way the two plates can not work smoothly.
4. If the low sliding gate plate break down, gap would easy to appear when casting, and molten steel would leave through it. If terrible, the sliding gate plate would easy to break into pieces because of molten steel pressure.
5. Sliding gate plate mortar can not bear erosion well, in which way gaps would appear and cause leak. If can not be found in time, this would cause leak between upper nozzle well block and well block, upper nozzle and upper slide gate plate.

New construction method of 100MT ladle permanant layer
In order to improve the material service life, China An Steel adjusts the construction method of their 100MT LF ladle as following.If you need any fire clay bricks , welcome to view our website to know futher information.
1.Install bottom well block mold, then put one layer of high alumina blowing felt on the bottom.
2.Use mixer to mix running castable into running condition, to install bottom permanant layer.
3.After the running castable curdled, install bottom working layer.
4.Put one layer of high alumina blowing felt on the ladle wall.
5.The gap distance between ladle wall working layer and high alumina blowing felt would be permanant layer thickness (normally would be 70-110mm). After installing working layer of 3-5 layers (about 300-500mm high), inject running castable into the gap between ladle wall working layer and high alumina blowing felt. Then use trowel to make the castable hard. Repeat the above procedure until LF construction finished.
6.On basis of optimized sintering method, sinter the ladle for 24 hours. After sintering, the ladle can be used.
Install the LF in above method, it has advantages as following.

1.Install bottom well block mold, then put one layer of high alumina blowing felt on the bottom.
2.Use mixer to mix running castable into running condition, to install bottom permanant layer.
3.After the running castable curdled, install bottom working layer.
4.Put one layer of high alumina blowing felt on the ladle wall.
5.The gap distance between ladle wall working layer and high alumina blowing felt would be permanant layer thickness (normally would be 70-110mm). After installing working layer of 3-5 layers (about 300-500mm high), inject running castable into the gap between ladle wall working layer and high alumina blowing felt. Then use trowel to make the castable hard. Repeat the above procedure until LF construction finished.
6.On basis of optimized sintering method, sinter the ladle for 24 hours. After sintering, the ladle can be used.
Install the LF in above method, it has advantages as following.

Fused zirconia corundum brick

Purposes of steelmaking
Steel is made by pig iron produced by blast furnace and DRI sponge iron and scrap as raw material, using different melting methods into steel, which include converter steelmaking method, open hearth furnace, electric arc furnace steelmaking etc. three categories. In order to meet requirements for higher quality and more varieties of high-grade steel, there has a variety of handling methods for molten steel outside of the furnace (also known as refining), such as blowing argon, vacuum degassing and desulfurization outside of furnace etc. By additional refining processing of molten steel produced from converter, open-hearth furnace and electric arc furnace etc, we can get advanced steel grades.
For some high-quality steel for special purpose and special requirements, if further processing outside of furnace still can not meet requirements, then we will use a special method for steel refining, such as ESR, which is a complicate refining process need secondary refining. Application of low thermal conductivity MgO-C bricks in ladle
Currently, inhibition of steel temperature droping has become a major issue for many steel plants.Therefore, in order to suppress temperature drop of molten steel, there has a test to study insulation problem of refractory lining in 185t ladle, by comparing three different measures.Do you need any fire bricks ?
Measure 1: Reducing the heat transfer effect of sidewall castables (30% reduction).
This method is by reducing coarse particles in castable,increasing porosity and other measures to reduce the thermal conductivity,to suppress heat dissipation.
Measure 2: Using insulation materials in the backlayer of wall castable.
This method is to use one layer insulating bricks with less than 1W?(m℃) thermal conductivity between ladle steel shell and wall castable,to inhibit heat dissipationheat.
Measure 3: Reducing the heat transfer of slag line MgO-C brick heat transfer (30% reduction).
This method is developed in recent years, to select lower thermal conductivity of MgO-C brick from the high thermal conductivity of MgO-C brick for slag line, to suppress heat dissipation.
After comparing, the results found that: only in reducing the thermal conductivity of slag line MgO-C brick,the effect of suppressing steel temperature dropping is significant, up to 2℃. Idicula said the Indian Government is aiming at a total steel production of 250Mt/yr by 2025. "At this rate, the Indian refractory industry will almost triple in size and there will be a corresponding rise in demand for calcium aluminate binders. We expect the refractory binder market to double from the current 50,000t/yr by 2020," said Idicula.
Currently in India, there are several small-scale merchant producers and several refractory producers manufacturing the binders for captive use. Kerneos, which has 30 customers in India, expects to double its market share in this segment in the next five years. Pierre Baillagou, Kerneos director (Industrial) said that the company plans to sell the entire production from its Vizag unit for the domestic refractory industry.
